The Bump Wing in detail
Everything the photos cannot show: what it is made of, how it is built, and what living with it is actually like.
Two supportive wings, joined by a flat band that lies under you.
The front wing carries the weight of your bump so it stops pulling on your lower back and hips. The rear wing sits snug against your back and helps keep you settled on your side, the position the NHS advises from 28 weeks. Between them, a flat under-body band joins the two wings: you lie on it, so both wings stay exactly where you set them, even when you shift in the night.
Every order also includes a free mini knee pillow. Slipped between your knees, it keeps your hips level.
An open mesh coverThe cover is an open mesh knit rather than a solid fabric. We have not run a temperature test, so we do not promise it sleeps cool.
A zip-off coverThe cover zips off. The manufacturer lists it as cotton and polyester but does not publish washing instructions, so we do not invent any.
Made for a UK doubleOn a standard UK double (135 cm) it takes 64 to 78 cm across, depending on how you set the band, and only 36 cm of the length. It also travels: sofa, spare room, weekend bag.
Zip-off coversEvery cover zips off the inner pillow.
If it arrives compressed, give it a day or two to regain its full shape after unpacking. After the birth, the mini pillow can still prop tired arms during feeds.
Our pillows are comfort and wellbeing products, not medical devices. If you have persistent pain or a medical condition, speak to your midwife or GP.

How to use your pregnancy pillow
No complicated setup. Three steps, about thirty seconds.

Settle on your side
Lie on your side, either left or right. Rest your bump on the front wing.
The side-sleeping position recommended by the NHS
Tuck the back wing
Snug the rear wing against your lower back. If you drift in the night, it gently reminds you to stay on your side.
Tommy's: a pillow behind your back encourages side-sleeping
Knees on the mini pillow
Slip the free mini pillow between your knees. The NHS suggests a pillow between your legs for extra support in bed.
NHS advice on pelvic painCan you travel with a pregnancy pillow?
Yes, and this is the shape that makes it realistic.
Most pregnancy pillows do not travel. A full U shape is roughly the size of a small child and lives in the boot of a car at best. The Bump Wing is two small wings on a flat band, 36 cm long, so it goes in a holdall far more easily than a 130 cm U.
For a hotel or a night at your mum's, that matters more than it sounds. Strange beds are where pregnant sleep falls apart: unfamiliar mattress, unfamiliar pillows, nothing where your body expects it. Bringing the support you already sleep with is the difference between a lost night and a normal one.
Two practical notes. Vacuum bags work, but only use them for storage and travel, never for months at a time, because the filling needs air to keep its loft. On a plane, check your airline's cabin bag rules; the mini knee pillow on its own is the easiest part to carry on board.
